An Arab region recorded the highest temperature on Earth, approaching 50 degrees Celsius.

Arab Weather - The Abu Simbel area in southern Egypt recorded one of the highest temperatures in the world during the past 24 hours, after the maximum temperature reached 48.2 degrees Celsius, approaching the 50-degree Celsius mark, according to data from global weather monitoring stations.

Abu Simbel station topped the list of highest temperatures recorded globally among thousands of monitoring stations, under the influence of a very hot air mass and scorching desert weather that dominates large parts of North Africa.

The recording of such high values is attributed to the desert nature of the region, in addition to the intensity of surface heating during this time of year, as the dry atmosphere, clear skies and strong solar radiation contribute to raising temperatures to extremely high levels.

Temperatures close to 50 degrees Celsius are considered extreme climatic values, due to the effects they have on daily activities and levels of heat stress, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.
